Emily, Erin and Kristen Breen speak at our 2019 Scholarship Recipient Reception
Emily, Erin and Kristen Breen all received scholarships from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving in 2015.
Erin attended Stonehill College in Massachusetts, where she received a degree in elementary education. During her time at Stonehill, Erin gained valuable teaching experience in urban and suburban schools, along with an internship teaching music.
Emily enrolled at Northeastern to study human services. She gained professional and nonprofit experience including trips to London and Zambia. During her time at Northeastern, Emily was able to follow her passion of playing club soccer and traveling around the country.
Kristen went to Western New England University unsure of what she wanted to do for a career. She played lacrosse, became a student ambassador leader and held prestigious positions including Chair of the Honors Program Council. Through these diverse experiences, Kristen discovered her voice and purpose, and graduated with a degree in business administration.
All three sisters chose a different path and defined their own version of success. They each graduated college in 2019 and headed into the real world with experience, focus and confidence. Only months after graduating, the Breen sisters gave the keynote address at the Hartford Foundation's 2019 Scholarship Recipient Reception, sharing their success stories with a new group of scholarship recipients.
